Nathan
Allan Glass Studios designed Convex glass In partnership
with Janson Goldstein and Front Inc of NYC. We are proud
of the recent unveiling of the impressive renovations
at Holt
Renfrew, Vancouver, BC. Approximately
7,000 sq ft of decorative glass was used – one
of our largest and certainly most prestigious projects.
Nathan
Allan developed new production methods that allowed for
tempering and laminating of Convex. Two types of Convex
glass are used in the Holt Renfrew project – Clear
Vision and Opacity. Clear Vision allows for great amounts
of light transmission into the store, while the Opacity
Panels provide a covering over the old brick façade.
We've since designed NEW
Convex patterns.
This
project is quickly becoming known worldwide, as a first
in Convex Glass technology. Nathan
Allan is soon to be featured in a UK Engineering report,
for producing unique, decorative glass that is both stunning
and functional. The panels were also rigorously tested
for wind loads and seismic activity, meeting and/or exceeding
all safety requirements for outdoor application.
