Glass Types

When our deepest linear textures are produced, because of the extra high heat required to slump the glass deeply, Organic details will form on the surface of our glass. It is rare that these organic details form in clear glass, but they will most often occur with low iron glass. We call these details “Raindrops”, as the finished effect looks like Raindrops running down the glass surface. As all of our glass is Organic handmade glass, the Raindrops perfectly fit our designs. And as much as we wish we could control and position the Raindrops, they choose to form wherever they form. The bottom line is, at Nathan Allan, we believe that Glass Raindrops add to the uniqueness and beauty of our designs, so we intentionally incorporate these designs into our architectural glass selections.
