Gemstone Glass Dividers. In a city where everyone is vying for visual attention, it is a challenge to create something that stands out. Nathan Allan relished the opportunity to create such a product at Planet Hollywood; a casino with electricity floating through the air. Patrons have a movie-star experience in a fabulous atmosphere that truly epitomizes glamour and excitement.
Like our first installment at Planet Hollywood, players are met by our vibrant kiln formed glass partitions as they enter into the High Limit Slots area. In collaboration with Thalden Boyd Emery Architects, we created frame-less architectural glass dividers that appear to float in the air. With compelling texture, vibrant color, and bright illumination, the kiln formed glass partitions give an illustrious first impression, which is stirring and energetic. Gemstone Glass Dividers
THE GLASS
Two sets of decorative glass dividers were used for this project at Planet Hollywood; Gemstone Gold Willow and our Crystal Series Crystal Cognac textured glass. Gemstone Gold Willow decorative glass is a free forming pattern that is essentially texture-less. This exclusive technology allows for substantial light transmission without sacrificing privacy, perfect for any partition application. Our Crystal Series Crystal Cognac panels use our sweeping Sahara textured glass, with back-applied crystals which helps illuminate the texture, while the deep vibrant Cognac color finish brightens the space. Recessed lighting underneath the textured glass panels elevates the intensity these panels have created, adding a very noticeable vibrancy to an already exciting atmosphere at Planet Hollywood.
SPECIFICATIONS
Clear tempered safety glass, 1/2″ (12mm) thick. The two sets of panels measure 42” x 61.5” (1067mm x 1562mm) and 27” x 49.5” (686mm x 1257mm). Glass Designs are Gemstone Gold Willow and Crystal Series Crystal Cognac decorative glass.
DESIGN
Working alongside Thalden Boyd Emery Architects, Nathan Allan focused on producing functional glass partitions with stunning features. Casinos often have minimal light, so creating illumination for visual impact was crucial. The textured glass dividers are subtly lit from below in recessed channels, integrating the glass within the dynamic environment. Our Willow and Sahara glass patterns flows seamlessly from top to bottom, providing a dazzling ambiance when paired with the accented lighting. Nathan Allan’s luxurious decorative glass partitions match Planet Hollywood’s movie-star experience.
INSTALLATION
The glass was installed by Avanti Glass and Mirror, LLC. All panels are recessed into the die wall, held in place with hidden channel and structural silicone. The recessed channel allows for a completely frameless installation, where the handmade, kiln crafted glass panels are the feature item.
