Ludlow House Glass Doors
Ludlow House Glass Doors. Ludlow House is a members’ club in a former gold leaf factory located on New York’s Lower East Side. Reflecting the neighborhood’s playful, vibrant energy, the space was designed by Soho House & Co’s in-house design team, featuring Nathan Allan’s textured glass doors as part of the entrance and reception design. Founded in London in 1995 as a private members’ club for people in the creative industries, Soho House & Co has since opened clubs across Europe and North America, as well as restaurants, cinemas, work spaces, spas, and bedrooms.
Ludlow House Glass Doors
Jewel textured glass is part of Nathan Allan’s Symmetry Series, in our Josiah J Collection. Various and custom sized Architectural Glass panels are produced in 1/4″ (6mm) clear tempered glass, with our antique Jewel texture. Produced using soft organic molds, individual diamond shaped cells are created to form the Jewel like texture. Our Jewel textured glass partitions provide a unique decorative feature, creating privacy, but also allowing effective light transmission.
SPECIFCATIONS
54 Jewel textured panels were produced in total, with panel sizes ranging from 12” x 36” (305mm x 914mm) to 30” x 60” (762mm x 1524mm). All 54 panels are produced with 1/4″ (6mm) clear glass, and are safety tempered. The most interesting detail is that Our Jewel textured glass is combined with Pilkington’s custom Pyrostop IGU unit, a 2 hour fire-rated glass wall and door system, fabricated by Technical Glass Products. DESIGN
Working with the talented designers of Soho House & Co, Design & Development, Nathan Allan presented various samples of our custom textured glass. Our Jewel texture combines an elegant, antique quality, which fit the design perfectly, enabling the Soho House mission which is “to create a comfortable home from home for our members”.
INSTALLATION
Our Jewel textured panels combined with Pilkington’s custom Pyrostop IGU unit, forming the outboard lite within the unit. The unit is a 2 hour fire-rated glass wall and door system, fabricated by Technical Glass Products.
