Thick Glass Furniture Glasstop
Thick Glass Furniture Glasstop. Working with the talented designers at Mitchell Friedland Design, Nathan Allan created a unique furniture showroom glasstop. Specifically, this Thick Glass Furniture Glasstop was designed for the prestigious luxury spaces at Grosvenor Ambleside, West Vancouver. Grosvenor Ambleside is a collection of 98 unique residences, with world class views on a superb waterfront location. Therefore, our glasstop needed to reflect the quality and uniqueness of this high end project. Consequently, we developed a 2” thick, crystal clear furniture top, with our Caldera texture.

THE GLASS
Knowing that our glass was going to be installed in this luxury complex, Nathan Allan really desired to produce something bold and unique. As such, we wanted potential clients to walk into the showroom, and view something they had never seen before. Nathan Allan partnered with Mitchell Friedland Designers to create the concept and design on this unique furniture glasstop. Therefore, using a special crystal clear fusing glass, a 2” thick, deeply textured glasstop was produced in our Caldera texture. Within this thick glass furniture top, thousands of air bubbles of various diameters are formed. As a result, the bubbles float within the glass and are magnified when light shines through or on the glasstop. Adding to the creativity in the glasstop, is the matching textured edges. Also formed in our Caldera texture, this feature is a Nathan Allan exclusive that you will not see anywhere else.
SPECIFICATIONS
Our Caldera handmade furniture glasstop measures 54” x 42” (1372mm x 1067mm) . Produced with crystal clear fusing glass, at 2” (50mm) thick. The bottom surface is formed with our Caldera texture. In addition, the matching edges are also produced with our Caldera texture. The total weight of the furniture glasstop is approximately 390 lbs.
INSTALLATION
Nathan Allan Glass Studios provided delivery and installation of this 600 lbs glasstop. Therefore, 4 technicians were required to handle the glass as it was moved through a delivery site, up a flight of stairs, and into the showroom. Furniture cushions are used to absorb the weight and separate the glass from touching the steel framed base.
